I Shot Andy Warhol
In 1968, radical feminist Valerie Solanas (Lili Taylor) shot pop-art icon Andy Warhol (Jared Harris) when he ignored the screenplay she wrote. This film traces Solanas's life up to that moment, from childhood abuse to college prostitution to writing the male-bashing "SCUM Manifesto." Taylor won a Special Recognition Award at the Sundance Film Festival for her portrayal of a deranged woman seeking recognition.

Bringing Up Baby

The Sixth Sense

Fahrenheit 451
Ray Bradbury's cautionary near-future parable of a society where books are banned and firemen start fires was the only English-language film from French auteur François Truffaut. Oscar Werner is the conflicted fireman Montag, and Julie Christie has a dual role. The score is by Truffaut favorite Bernard Hermann, of Psycho fame. For an extra level of subtle satire, look closely at the carefully chosen book titles.

Fracture
Anthony Hopkins stars in this legal thriller as Ted Crawford, a man who allegedly attempted to murder his wife and is now locked in a battle of wits with an assistant district attorney, Willy Beachum (Ryan Gosling). The D.A.'s convinced Crawford has blood on his hands, but Crawford is freed on a technicality, sending Beachum on an obsessive mission to prove Crawford's guilt -- even if he has to bend the law to make his case.
