2010 Resolutions

As I stopped to reflect on another year, I realized how good Jason and I are at sticking to resolutions.  So I figure I would set forth a few of my own and include Jason in on some too.

Last year we resolved to be more healthy and fit.  We both had smiles on our faces last night as we headed to the gym faithfully almost a year after we had started.  I won’t lie.  We went on hiatus for about three months after closing on our home, but we slowly got back into it and went nearly every day in November and December.  So year two of being a fit couple continues.  Maybe without the stress of buying a home, I can finally lose those few pounds I’ve been wanting to for too long now…  So to wrap this one up, I include eating better and making healthier food choices.  We are only allowed two dinner outings per month unless it is a special occasion/celebration.  This includes those nights I don’t want to cook, and we settle for fast food.  Yikes!

In addition to my quest to prepare fabulous, healthy meals, I decided to start a new business venture and signed up to be a Pampered Chef consultant.  While the discounted products will be great, of course I did it for the extra cash that I hope to invest into yet some more education.  My kick off party (and when I'll "officially" be a consultant) is February 19.  Look for my website and other updates on this as I am quite excited to get started!

One resolution we failed miserably at (and Jason puts the blame mostly on me) was to make progress on our 100 Years 100 Movies list.  While Jason did good on other movie marathons of his own, even completing two 24 hour ones, he informed me that we watched a total of nine from our 100 Movies list…  well, nine in 2009, that sounds good doesn’t it?  Really, we were busy!  I don’t think we watched much of any TV for at least a month after we moved into our house.  With that behind us, we have on our to do list to watch at least 33 movies from that list this year (we just finished #62, started at 100), about half of what remains.  Look for our reviews throughout the year!  And give us some grief if you haven’t seen a recent one!

On a personal note, I want to get back to writing more.  For that, I figured what better way than to blog.  As many of you know, Jason and I have plenty of drama follow us that I could chatter on about, so look for me on AreaVoices within the next few days.  I plan to be your resident FM Critic, giving reviews, the good, bad, and ugly on the experiences Jason and I have, be it at a restaurant, hotel or other entertainment outing.  Carnival beware - you best give us a good time on our cruise in three weeks as our upcoming cruise will be one of the featured reviews.

As for Jason, he would like to continue writing on his multiple blog sites (this site, Twins Digest and The Hexagon Circle), while also redesigning and updating some of the sites that he created years ago.  For instance, his profile web site hasn't even been updated since he graduated from college in 2004 and it makes no mention of him working at Forum Communications, a job that he has had now for nearly six years!  He also wants to update his Hog Palace sports site and possibly redesign The Hexagon Circle web site as well.  On top of that, I'm sure he will continue on with his movie marathons, especially after getting '1001 Movies You Must See Before You Die' as a Christmas gift.
