2009 Resolutions

It is a new year and with a new year come new resolutions.  Here are a few resolutions that Crystal and I have made for 2009.

Getting Fit/Losing Weight
One of Crystal's resolutions was to start dieting and joining a local health club for women to help shed some extra pounds.  Knowing that she wanted to do this I figured that having a second person around could help motivate her into going to the gym on a regular basis.  Plus, it wouldn't hurt me to get into shape a bit.  Since I can't really join a health club for women, the two of us opted to join a Snap Fitness that is about 3 minutes away from where we live.  Crystal is already seeing results from going the past week while I have been pretty sore.

Restaurant Reviews
I'm not sure how well this will go with the whole dieting aspect of things, but one thing that I would like to try to do is to write reviews of local restaurants that we have gone to.  Fargo is home to hundreds of restaurants of all kinds and we usually like to try different ones to see what they are like.  Of course, one place we probably won't be hitting is Doolittle's, but that place has already gotten a review on our web site in my mind.  Sorry Dammon.

Movie Marathons
Hopefully 2009 will see us make some significant progress in our AFI 100 Years 100 Movies list.  As of right now we still have 70 movies to go, but with Crystal done with school and the both of us all caught up on the past six seasons of 24, we should be able to knock a good chunk off of the list.  Aside from that list, I plan to be watching some movie marathons on my own.  Over the past couple of years I have been creating and revising several lists but never actually got around to watching any of the movies.  That will change this year.  I have already started on a new marathon and will be tracking the progress for that one, as well as others, on this web site.

House Hunting
This will hopefully be the year that the two of us upgrade from our townhome and take the plunge to become homeowners.  Since last fall we have been going to open houses, trying to figure out what we like, and seeing what we can afford so we can finally move out of our present home when our lease is up at the end of July.  Of all of the open houses we have gone to thus far we haven't quite found the perfect house for us yet (if it does exist), but I'm sure we will be blogging about it as we start seriously looking in the spring.
