Witnessing History?

On Monday afternoon I was working at my desk with my headphones on that were blaring Rancid into my ears. My attention was focused on my computer monitor as my boss walked up and started knocking on my desk. I removed my headphones and he asked me to come to his office, which was strange as I rarely am ever asked to go into his office.
I followed him to his office and he told me that he appreciated all of the work I do for the company and thanked me for picking up some of the extra work that was left hanging when a co-worker left us last week. He then asked that if I wasn’t doing anything this weekend, that he would like to give me a pair of tickets to the Vikings/Packers game for this Sunday as a way to say thanks. I told him that I didn’t have any plans and thanked him for the tickets.
I found it ironic as a day earlier a co-worker of mine from the video store asked if I was planning on going to any Vikings games this year. I told her I probably wasn’t going to as their offense is terrible and would rather go see NDSU take on the University of Minnesota instead. Who would have guessed that 24 hours later I would have a pair of Vikings tickets in my hands?
Even though the Vikings as a whole cannot compare to what it was just a few years ago, the rivalry between these two divisional teams is fierce, with many of the games in recent history being decided by a field goal, which is reason enough to go. Not to mention, it would be great to see the last place Vikings take down the first place Packers, especially after losing both games to them last year.
Plus, it could very well be a historic afternoon as Brett Favre may surpass Dan Marino for the top spot of most career touchdown passes with 421. The Vikings have a great rushing defense, but their passing defense is severely lacking. Favre should easily make it to 421, if not 422 and 423.
Added to the possibility of the record setting mark by Favre, a former Viking running back, Chuck Foreman, will be inducted into the Vikings Ring of Honor prior to the game. In honor of the occasion, the Vikings will be wearing throwback uniforms from the period of time Foreman was with the Vikings in the 1970’s.
So be on the lookout for us at the game on Sunday. Here is the seating chart that shows the location of our tickets. We’ll be sure to bring our camera and take a lot of photos.

To say that I am extremely jealous is beyond words. Have a lot of fun and don't forget about your two youngest Vikings fans.....McKenna and Lainey.

There is another record the Favre may break - the most interceptions! Let's hope he breaks that one and not the other one! Have fun.
