What we did on our summer vacation(s)

In case you haven’t noticed, our photo gallery has suddenly doubled in size. We have added four new galleries to the site that put on around 170 new photos. Each gallery represents a different place we went to over the course of the summer.
Our summer vacation started at the end of July, where we headed to Nebraska for a wedding. On the way down, we spent the night in Sioux Falls, South Dakota, a decided on a whim to visit the Great Plains Zoo the next morning. This particular zoo is probably one of the better ones I have ever been to, and I have been to several of them. If you are every in the Sioux Falls vicinity, you should check this place out.
Less than a month after that was our third wedding anniversary, where we spent a couple of days in St. Paul, attending both a Marilyn Manson/Slayer concert and the Como Zoo and Conservatory. Had we known ahead of time that cameras were actually allowed into the concert, we would have brought ours with. We didn’t though, and have now decided to designate one of our old digital cameras to become a “disposable” camera that we could part with if it gets confiscated by security. We did, however, get some real nice pictures of flowers from the conservatory and of the animals at the zoo.
Labor Day had us flying out once again to Las Vegas for another trip into the City of Sin. This time around we went and visited a few places that we didn’t quite get to the last time we went out, such as the Secret Garden and Dolphin Habitat at the Mirage and the Auto Collection at the Imperial Palace. The main reason of the trip, though, was so Crystal could see Celine Deon perform at the Colosseum at Caesars Palace, as her stage production is done with at the end of this year.
Finally, if Vegas wasn’t enough, we spent a few more days in the Twin Cities for another wedding, which was topped off with a WWE television taping at the Target Center. This gallery will show you what we were able to see from our perspective, which was the exact opposite of what was shown on TV as we were facing the stationary cameras. I still think my hearing is damaged in my right ear from the pair of screaming kids behind us, but we still had a great time there. The event marked Crystal’s second television taping, as for me, though, I have lost count. I’m sure it is in the teens somewhere, if not 20 or more.
All in all, we had a busy and fun summer. It’s just too bad we’ll be paying for it all winter long.
