Throughout 2009, I watched the original 10 movies that were featured in the first annual After Dark Horrorfest. That event took place in the fall of 2006 and in 2007 they released eight more movies that “intended to thrill viewers by provoking fear or revulsion through the depiction of grotesque, violent or supernatural events.” I’ll be the judge of that.

The 2006 version of the Horrorfest was a mixed bag of movies, with some good, many really horrible, and only a couple worth watching again. Overall, it was enough to get me to watch the second installment of the series of films, but I am hoping for more this time around. There are no bonus movies in this series, so I should be able to breeze past this marathon and possibly start on the third Horrorfest before the end of the year.

Yes, there is a third festival, and also a fourth, which just ended its theatrical run yesterday. I have some catching up to do, so I better just get down to it.
