Plot
Three sisters receive a surprising inheritance from their unknown grandfather that has just died. They join up with a group of friends and travel in a RV to visit the property and decide what to do with it. They soon find more than they bargained for as they meet some more of their unknown relatives.
Jason's Thoughts
The premise of this movie sounded a lot better than what actually came out of it. I guess I was under the impression that it was going to be a supernatural thriller with a name like Lake Dead that is about a mysterious inheritance. It pretty much had nothing to do with a lake, but it is actually about a family named Lake. A twisted family that likes to keep things close.
This movie really had nothing much to offer as it featured bad acting, a lame story and horrible special effects. I'm not sure if the producers were going for some product placement to help offset the budget, but the two deranged men sure reminded me of the cavemen from the Geico commercials. I'm guessing, though, that it wasn't intentional and they thought the makeup job looked really great and really horrifying.
I usually reserve one star ratings for the movies I truly hate and Lake Dead teetered the line for the most part. The only reason I gave it two stars is because of the finger trauma towards the end of the movie. That at least gave me some more content for my fingertrauma.com web site.
